Former Prime Minister David Lloyd George was nicknamed ‘The Welsh Wizard’.
The monument at his grave, alongside the River Dwyfor in the village of Llanystumdwy where
he grew up, was designed by architect Sir Clough Williams-Ellis. |

The Cob is an embankment beside Porthmadog Harbour Station,
the western terminus of the Ffestiniog Railway. |

The 1960s TV cult show ‘The Prisoner’, starring Patrick McGoohan
as Number Six, was filmed in Portmeirion. In one episode, Number Six held an
election rally from the Gloriette. |

Blaenau Ffestiniog is the eastern terminus of the Ffestiniog
Railway. Annie rides on the slate mine’s underground railway to Chough’s Cavern,
where she find some roofing slates among the rubble. The clue is attached to
a ‘duchess’, a 24in x 12in slate. |
