Anneka, Graham and Frankie were shadowed by a second film crew who were filming a “The Making of Treasure Hunt” programme. This showed Graham, Frankie and Malcolm Heyworth (the producer, standing in for Anneka) doing a dummy-run of the Haddon Hall clue in the episode, the day before the real treasure hunt was recorded, as they rehearsed the route to and from the location to learn about any hazards or obstructions, and to brief the Duke of Rutland, who was to greet Anneka on her arrival, as to how much help he could offer her. While this was taking place, Anneka was confined to her hotel, researching local information so she had a supply of facts that she could use to fill in any “thinking time” while the contestants solved the clues. The recording of this section of the real episode was then shown, with matching footage in the studio of the contestants, Kenneth, Pauline Gaunt (floor manager) and Chris Gage (studio director). After recording of the episode had finished, Chris, Malcolm and Greg Griffiths (editor) were seen discussing how the location and studio footage should be cut together. |
