Notes
This was a special programme for the ITV Telethon fund-raising event. The hunt was screened live over a 27-hour period on 29 May 1988 (Clue 1) and 30 May 1988 (Clues 2–5). 50 minutes (rather than the usual 45 minutes) were allowed to solve the five clues, and there was a different pair of celebrity contestants for each clue. With the solving of each clue, British Telecom (now BT) donated a sum of money to charity, and viewers were asked to pledge their donations by phoning 01-831-3000. When the first clue was solved, BT donated £30,000 (41:18 left on clock); the second clue netted a further £40,000 (30:52 left); the third £50,000 (20:14 remaining); the fourth £60,000 (10:33); and the fifth and final clue £70,000 (with 01:14 to spare!) The total BT donation to the telethon appeal was £250,000.
Helicopter G-HELY was used instead of the normal G-BHXU.
1 TON-UP KARTS is an anagram of SUTTON PARK.
2 The final clue was solved at about 20:10 on 30 May 1988. This was Anneka’s last ever job as Treasure Hunt skyrunner.
