Start Position Bluebell Railway – Sheffield Park station
Clue 1 Have a field day – from Sheffield via a ‘new’ field to an old field of linden trees, where you make a toll call.
Leads to Lindfield – hanging on a piece of string from ‘The Toll House’ sign
Clue 2 You should really jump at this: All England waits for you to find the main way in and spot the blue on red and white before the Cornishman.
Leads to Hickstead show-jumping course – on one of the fences 1
Clue 3 Jill is up the hill with Jack.
One is white and one is black.
When the lady you have found,
The next instruction will come round.
Leads to Clayton Windmills (Jack and Jill) – on one of Jill’s sails
Clue 4 Oberon saw a mermaid on this creature’s back. You need a driving force to find it where Dr Russell set a fashion and it should ring up the next clue.
Leads to Brighton aquarium – on dolphin’s ring
Clue 5 Take it in your stride; Mrs Fitzherbert’s husband’s home holds the culinary palm and a visit could be really fruitful.
Leads to Brighton Pavilion – a real tomato amongst plastic fruit in The Great Kitchen.
Result The contestants just missed winning the treasure, and were given the large bottle of champagne as a consolation prize.

1 While running across the show-jumping course, Anneka was struck a glancing blow by a passing horse. She continued with the rest of the programme but was taken to hospital afterwards and was wearing a bandage on her foot for the following week’s programme in Somerset.
